Mommy Monday

I am writing this a bit early but in a couple hours it will be monday soon...Mommy is sick today! I got a stomach bug while at work, and that is one great thing about being a nurse, everyone around you is compassionate and knows your symptoms well! :) My manager was so nice to let me go home, and I passed out after the madness. I haven't felt like that in a while.

So it brings me to the thoughts of becoming older, getting older, and my body getting older, and harder to bounce back from these type of things! It also brings me to a NY resolution that me and Daddy always make every year, and becoming healthier. We definitely need to treat our body as something great, so good, something God has created ...I think if we thought of it more that way, we would think twice before we do anything or put anything IN or ON our bodies!

Daddy and I are vowing to become more GREEN this year and the years later, as well as healthier. We want Zayden to have a world to thrive in, and have a planet he is proud of and will continue to take care of. This week we have been concentrating on Lola's health and helping her to make healthy choices, especially with diet. Its hard to have such a good diet, especially when you are filipino! Filipino food is SO good, yet SO bad at times. Depending on where you are from--most of it for us is meat based, then veggies next. And we like a lot of pork ,beef, and salt, sweet too! Its really good and everyone loves flip food especially at parties, but after you get older, and you don't live in the hot tropical weather and here in the lovely US--it catches up to you! Another trait with Filipinos is being strong minded! READ: stubborn! Not only for my family, I have heard others vent to me the same. As a nurse, its hard for me to hear or see certain things that affect your loved one's health--but its harder when patients don't listen! I don't want Lola being one of THOSE patients. LOL. I should write a filipino diet cookbook! HA! I would need help as my cooking skills are not up to par just yet!

So here are photos of our last hurrah with Lola on her birthday--this was pre DIET phase! Zayden had SO much fun blowing out her candles and poking her cake..

he's already got the cake coma before cutting it here...
